Live Earth was a series of benefit concerts taking place on July 7 2007 in cities such as London, Sydney and Hamburg. Al Gore and Kevin Wall came up with the idea based on the Live 8 and Live Aid concerts. The purpose of this benefit was to raise awareness of global warming.
Madonna was the final act at the big show in Wembley Stadium and sang Hey You, Ray of Light, La Isla Bonita (with Gogol Bordello) and Hung Up. The song Hey You was the theme song to Live Earth and was used in promo's and commercials. Hey You wasn't an official physical single but a video to it was released, no Madonna images but images of all the wrong doing in the world instead.
Madonna premiered her new version of La Isla Bonita here, the song Lela Pala Tute was mixed into it and together with Gogol Bordello brought a whole new version of it. This version was used in Sticky & Sweet Tour as well
